Abstract

1,172,204. Stripping cables. HEPWORTH ELECTRICAL DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. 26 April, 1968, No. 19816/68. Heading H2C. A knife for cutting lead sheaths of cables is formed entirely of plastics material and comprises a blade 2 having a thick back edge 1 tapering to edge 3, which has an included angle of 40 degrees formed between tangents to curved sides 4. The leading end 5 of the blade is inclined forwardly towards the edge 3 at 22 degrees, to provide an acute point 6 and is rounded with a radius of half the thickness of the back of the blade. A handle 7 is tapered off into the blade at 11 and rounded at edges 8, 9, 10.
