Abstract

1,171,992. Reclining chair. R O Y A L DEVELOPMENT CO. Inc. 26 Jan., 1967 [27 Jan., 1966], No. 3908/67. Heading A4J. In a reclining chair, in which the seat frame 10 is carried upwardly and forwardly, on links 94, 96, as the backrest tilts rearwardly, the back-rest initially moves in unison with link 112 about pivot 114, and then tilts more abruptly about pivot 116 into its limiting position. The latter is determined by pin 124, sliding in slot 123 of stop link 120. Other arrangements of links and levers, which produce different results, are illustrated and described.
