Hepato-protective drugs comprising an inert carrier and a pyridine compound of formula: wherein X is H or OH in forms to permit administration by the oral or parenteral route but excluding non-sterile aqueous solutions and which may further comprise an additional hepato-protective compound e.g. choline, betaine, arginine, glutamic acid and vitamins B 6 and B 12 .
