[Also in Divisions B2, B8 and F4] A container having resilient walls is provided with an elastic or expansible diaphragm, an outlet at one end allowing liquid to be squeezed from the container through a non-return valve, and air being admitted at the other end through a second non-return valve as the container wall is released, so that the diaphragm expands under air pressure to fill the space in the container from which the liquid is expelled. The container may be shaped as a block, and a covering 47 fed through a series of non-return valves 42, the diaphragm being formed as a bladder 46 having an air valve 45. The covering may take the form of fingers (50), sandpaper or steel wool (52), spongey material (54), or a brush (56), Figs. 5A-D respectively (not shown). Again, Fig. 7 (not shown), the liquid, which may be ink or a fuel, is squeezed into a reservoir (74) past a flap valve (77), a wick (78) which can be used as a marker (in the case of ink) or to produce a flame (in the case of a fuel) being fed thereby.
