Abstract

1,162,876. Collapsible paper tubes. PATON, CALVERT & CO. Ltd. 22 May, 1968 [2 June, 1967], No. 25576/67. Heading B8M. A collapsible fibrous tube for use in the winding of glass fibre cake has an outer layer treated with a water-resistant material, which is preferably a plastics material. The tube is preferably made of paper and the water-resistant material is applied to the outer layer during winding of the tube. The water-resistant material is preferably a curable plastics material, e.g. a selfreactive acrylic latex emulsion cross-linked with a methylated melamine formaldehyde precondensate catalysed with an acid.
