Abstract

1,162,843. Radiators for heating and cooling buildings. INTERNATIONAL ENVIRONMENT CORP. 22 Nov., 1966, No. 52296/66. Heading F4S. A heat exchange system for heating or cooling rooms comprises a plurality of plates 13 made of a heat-conducting material such as aluminium, having side flanges 28 bent to clip in close engagement with a rectangular heat exchange fluid distribution tube 17, the system being intended for mounting inside the walls and/or ceiling by means of suspension channels 10 and wall moulding channels 12. The plates may be provided with acoustic perforations 34. An insulating blanket 18 rests on the flanges 28 and end flanges 35. Notches 32, 33 and 36 are cut in the flanges 28, 35 to accommodate, respectively, a header manifold 16, heat sources such as lighting units, and the distribution tubes 17. In modifications the distribution tubes may be polygonal for example, hexagonal, or other shapes, the essential feature being a flat face parallel to the panels.
