Abstract

1,161,726. Rollers. LOCKHEED AIRCRAFT CORP. 22 Dec., 1967, No. 58536/67. Heading F2U. A conveyer roller for use on cargo aircraft as - an onboard installation in the floor of the ramp to the storage compartment thereof, comprises a number of individual supplemental roller units 10 each of which comprises five equally spaced identical barrel-shaped rollers 11 journalled by needle bearings (16), Fig. 3 (not shown), on pins 15 carried between spaced arms 14 of a centre carrier 12 freely journalled on a shaft 13, the external surface of the barrel rollers 11 forming a circular arc about the axis of the shaft 13 and the barrel rollers of each unit being circumferentially displaced from those of adjacent units to form an unbroken peripheral surface about the axis of rotation of the conveyer rollers, the units 10 being collectively retained by pins 17 press fitted or otherwise secured thereto.
