Abstract

1,161,216. Supplying detergent. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 31 Aug., 1966, No. 38895/66. Heading D1A. Soap powder contained in a dispenser 10 mounted under the lid 5 of a washing machine is washed into the machine by water from a nozzle 19 which flows down a chute 18. Water is supplied to the nozzle by a manually or solenoid operated control valve 20. The dispenser is filled with the lid in its raised position and a gauze 16 prevents premature dischange in this position whilst allowing water to run through. The dispenser may be removed from the lid for cleaning. The dispenser may have one or more compartments and the nozzle 19 may be moveable to wash soap from each compartment in turn.
