Abstract

1,161,137. Wall panels. ENTERPRISES BALENCY & SCHUHL S.A. 29 Sept., 1967 [7 Dec., 1966], No. 44551/67. Heading E1B. A prefabricated wall panel comprises inner and outer layers 12 and 13 of reinforced concrete interconnected by steel elements 35 and 36 engaging rods 50 embedded in the concrete and an expanded polystyrene layer 14 through which the elements pass. At an opening in the panel for a window, the outer panel projects inwardly through the inner layer to form a frame having a recess to receive a window frame. The layer 14 is also bent inwardly around the frame and its free edge is covered by a beading attached to the window frame. The edges of the panel have grooves or rabets for connecting with floors or ceilings or similar panels.
