1401439 Reinforced concrete floors OMNIA INTERNATIONAL BUILDING SYSTEMS Ltd 1 Nov 1972 [1 Nov 1971] 50759/71 Heading E1W Prefabricated concrete panels 11 with projecting parallel lattice beam reinforcements 12 are laid edge to edge and lightweight blocks or void formers 13, 14 are placed on the panels. At least those blocks in the region of the edges of the panels are provided with a rebate 16, or alternatively a single block spanning the edge region may have a centrally disposed recess. Cast concrete poured over the blocks and reinforcement is then of greater thickness over the regions of the panel edges. The voids may be formed by metal or cardboard formers or may be expanded polystyrene or wood wool blocks. The blocks 13 may be rebated to provide space for additional site concrete adjacent the beams 12. Additional reinforcement may be placed adjacent the rebate 16.
