Abstract

1,161,047. Tool for extracting electrical contact pins. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 28 March, 1968 [31 March, 1967], No. 15061/68. Heading B4C. [Also in Division H2] A tool for extracting an electrical contact pin 2 from a connector block 4 comprises a blade 17 having a pair of fingers 21, 22 adapted to enter a bore 3 in the connector in order that the finger 21 may move a tine 9 out of engagement with an abutment 13, so that a driver member 31 movably mounted on the blade may then be actuated to move the released tine past the abutment and allow the contact member to be removed from the connector. The fingers 21, 22 on the tool are connected by means of a bridge 23 having cam surfaces 24, 26 adapted to open spring fingers 6 formed on the contact member. The driver member 31 is slidable in a slot 27 formed in the blade. In a modification, the fingers (54, 56, Fig. 9) on the tool are connected by a C-shaped bridge (61) which is guided in a slot (62) formed in the bore.
