Abstract

1,160,296. Nuts. C. I. WILLIAMS. 8 Aug., 1966 [18 Aug., 1965], No. 35486/66. Heading F2H The surface 23, 24 of the outer end of a clamping nut is generally convex and cuts the threads 20 at an acute angle to expose the thread ridges, whereby the exposed ridges produce the effect of a chisel for extending down into the thread grooves of a bolt to progressively remove any foreign particles encountered as the nut is unscrewed. A transverse groove 25 may be provided for a locking pin.
