Abstract
1,150,098. Dyeing polymers of acrylonitrile and/or dicyanethylene. CIBA Ltd. 2 Dec., 1966 [2 Dec., 1965; 14 Oct., 1966], No. 54005/66. Heading D1B. Polymers of acrylonitrile and/or asymmetric dicyanoethylene are dyed or printed using a water soluble dyestuff which is free of acidic groups which confer water-solubility on the molecule and which contains a residue of formula:- wherein R 3 , R 4 or R 5 each represent an alkyl or phenalkyl group, or two or three of which residues together with the nitrogen atom may also denote a heterocyclic ring e.g. pyridine, X denotes an anion and n a number not greater than 8. Specified dyestuffs containing the group are anthraquinone, nitro styryl and particularly azo dyes. Red, yellow, blue shades are obtained. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 789,263.
