In a bobbin creel a holding device for the end of yarn at each tensioner 5 after being cut comprises a suction nozzle 21 which receives a loop 8 of the yarn formed by a plunger 19 moving through a slot 18 in a plate 17. A cutting edge 24 may be associated with each holding device so that the yarn is cut automatically on removal of the bobbin. A yarn engaging and knotting device for the yarn end from a fresh bobbin as in S'pecification 1148169, may be used in association.
