Abstract

1,147,508. Lubricants. MOBIL OIL CORP. 22 Nov., 1967 [30 Jan.. 1967], No. 53154/67. Addition to 1,090,288. Heading C5F. A lubricant comprises a major proportion of a hydrogenated, liquid, poly-C 4 -C 15 -olefin and a minor proportion of a diorgano phosphonate. The phosphonate may contain 2-50 carbon atoms and may have the formula where n is 0-5 and R is alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, halo, haloalkyl, alkoxy, aryl and alkaryl, the alkyl radicals being C 1 -C 18 . The preferred base oil is hydrogenated poly-(l-decene).
