Abstract

1,142, 555. Ni-Co-Mo steels. INTERNATIONAL NICKEL Ltd. Aug. 16, 1967 [Aug. 25, 1966], No. 37798/67. Heading C7A. Steel age-hardenable in the martensitic state has the following weight percentage composition:- Ni 14-22 C 0-0À15 Co 12-25 Si 0-1 Mo 2-4 Mn 0-1 Ti 0-0À4 W 0-2 Zr 0-0À1 B 0-0À01 V 0-2 Be 0-1 Mg 0-0À025 Cu 0-6 Cr 0-3 Nb 0-3 Al 0-0À4 Ta 0-4 Fe and impurities - balance. The steel may be homogenised at 1260‹ C., solution-treated at 760‹ -879‹ C. and aged at 370‹ - 540‹ C. It is suitable for the production of forgings, castings, plate, landing gear, die blocks, machinetool parts, and fasteners.
