Abstract

1,141,327. Bituminous compositions. SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. 8 Jan., 1968, No. 1054/68. Heading C3N. Bitumen having Pen (25‹ C.) 20-200 mm./10 comprises (a) a petroleum distillation residue having initial b.p. > 350‹ C. and Pen (25‹ C.) > 200 and (b) a propane bitumen formed by propane deasphalting of a petroleum distillation residue having initial b.p. > 350‹ C. The bitumen may have wax content < 7% wt. (a) may contain > 7% wt. wax and < 2% wt. nheptone asphaltenes. (b) may be formed by deasphalting residue (a).
