Abstract

1,038,123. Glazing bars. BAST GLAZING CLIPS Ltd. May 17, 1963 [March 12, 1962], No. 9463/62. Heading E1R. A glazing bar for panes of glass 8 (e.g. in a greenhouse) held by clips 15 comprises a web 2 integral with opposed members retaining the clips 15 and with flanges 3 having slotted box .seatings 4 for sealing-members 9 on which the glass 8 rests. Locating members 7 are integral with the flanges 3. Each sealing member 9, which may be of plasticised P.V.C., comprises a salient tubular portion integral with a T-section mounting portion. Grooves 12 in the members 1 locate the end of the clip 15 during assembly. A tongue 18, Fig. 4 (not shown), is stamped out of each glazing clip to provide a stop for the lower edges of overlapping panes of glass. An undercut recess 33 in the glazing bar receives the heads of bolts by which the bar is mounted.. The glazing bar may be extended and is preferably of corrosion-resistant metal or alloy such as aluminium. The clip 15 may be of stainless steel.
