Abstract

1,034,728. Tunnel furnaces. L. CHOMAT. Nov. 5, 1964 [Nov. 16, 1963], No. 45200/64. Heading F4B. A tunnel furnace comprises a plurality of independant sections 1 to 12, each having a metal frame containing refractory brickwork, mounted on a carriage or chassis 13 provided with non-driven casters, rollers or wheels 14 whereby the section is movable in all directions, the sections being placed end to end to form a tunnel, of any desired length. Exhaust fumes from a modified section forming heating chamber 7 pass through preheating flues in sections 6 to 3 and then out through exhaust flues 15, conduits 16 and chimney 17.
