Abstract

1,025,808. Axle bearing guiding arrangements. LORD MANUFACTURING CO. April 9, 1964 [Sept. 3, 1963], No. 14670/64. Heading B7L. In a railway vehicle having a frame 1, Fig. 1, and pedestal jaws 10, Fig. 3 (not shown), receiving therebetween a roller bearing 3, Fig. 2, not shown, for an axle journal 2, an adaptor cap plate 5 is either anchored to the bearing or fits over a bearing cup 7, and has flanges 9 embracing the jaws 10, elastomeric bodies 17 and 14, being disposed between the top of the cap 5 and a load carrying surface 21 of the frame and between vertical walls 15 of the cap and the vertical walls 13 of the jaws 10, respectively. The body 17 is bonded to the cap 5 and a channel-shaped plate 19 and an elastomeric coating 22 is provided between the plate 19 and the surface 21. However, the body 17 may be anchored directly to the surface 21. The bodies 14 are bonded to the cap 5 and channel plates 16 embracing the jaws 10. In another embodiment the cap has lateral tongues received between flanges of grooves on the jaws, elastomeric bodies being sandwiched between the jaws and tongues.
