Abstract

1,025,119. Drying granular material. PREROVSKE STROJIRNAY NARODNI PODNIK. Jan. 21, 1965 [Jan. 24, 1964], No. 2682/65. Heading F4G. [Also in Division B2] An impact pulverizer, for grinding and drying clay, plate clay, coal &c., comprises a grinding chamber 4, a screw conveyer 1, a tube 5 supplying drying gases and a rotor disc 12 having a central knife distributer and carrying concentric circles of crushing bolts 13. These bolts intercalate with further bolts 20 secured to a wall 7 of the casing. In operation, drying gases enter the casing 4 and preheat material supplied by the screw to the centre of the chamber, where it is cut by knives 15 of the distributer 14, and crushed by the bolts 13 and 20, whence it is withdrawn in the gas stream into an outlet tube 21, Fig. 2 (not shown). A channel 17 for the drying gases, with an inlet flange 18 and an outlet flange 19, is welded to the mantle 8 of the grinding chamber. In a further embodiment, one or more circles of crushing bolts may be replaced by coaxially-arranged segments, and additional blades may be fixed to the circumference of the disc.
