Abstract

1,024,355. Jaw crushers. ROBEY & CO. Ltd. Jan. 25, 1965 [Jan. 27, 1964], No. 3428/64. Heading B2A. In a jaw crusher, thrust surfaces 8, 13 are provided on the movable jaw 6 and on a crosshead 12 and co-operate, through the interposition of rollers 24, with thrust surfaces 19, 20 provided at opposite sides of a pitman 16 actuated by an eccentric 17 on a driving shaft 18. The thrust surfaces are formed by inserts in replaceable thrust plates 9, 10, 21 and 22. The thrust plates 10 and 21 are supported on the back of the jaw 6 and on the pitman respectively through the interposition of tapered packing pieces 11 and 23. The rollers 24 are retained in position by means of a spring- influenced bar 25. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), only a single pair of thrust surfaces and interposed roller is provided, one thrust surface being provided on the crosshead and the other on the back of the movable jaw which is actuated by means of an eccentric on the driving shaft.
