Abstract

1352223 Double worm press H STUDLI 19 April 1971 [1 April 1970] 25783/71 Heading B5A In a double-worm type press comprising a housing 20 containing wearing sleeves 22, the housing and wearing sleeves are divided along a plane passing through the worm axes 21, the two halves 1. 2 of the housing being releasably held together by connection means releasably attached by key means to both longitudinal sides of the housing. The connection means comprises U-shaped rails 11 having wedge surfaces 9, 10 co-operating with wedge surfaces 7, 8 on the housing halves, and wedge pins 16 passing through openings 15 in lugs 12, 13 on the housing. The rails 11 can be displaced outwardly on bolt members 18 to allow separation of the housing halves for cleaning &c. The upper housing half can be raised away from the lower half by rotating bolt members 19 which are threaded into the upper housing half.
