1,024,079. Stays for hinged articles. W. WILLACH and O. WILLACH, [trading as HUWIL-WERKE HUGO WILLACH & SOHNE]. May 27, 1964 [May 29, 1963], No. 21852/64. Heading E2F. A stay arrangement for allowing braking action during the opening movement of a horizontally hinged flap without hindering the closing movement consists of a brake casing 27 sliding on a vertical rod 1 secured to the flap support and containing a wedge 10 loaded by a spring 7. An adjustment screw 17 is provided. In another embodiment (Fig. 5, not shown) the bar 1 is omitted and the stay 3 slides through the brake casing which is pivotally mounted on the flap support. In this construction, the wedge may be in the form of a pivoted cam whose action is adjustable by means of a screw.
