Abstract

1,023,538. Blasting. PROMECAM SISSONLEHMANN. Jan. 15, 1965 [Jan. 17, 1964], No. 1917/65. Heading B3D. A mobile unit for the projection of solid particles for the mechanical treatment of surfaces comprises a centrifugal turbine generating a flow of particles, an open chamber covering part of the surface being treated, and a nozzle situated in the chamber and through which the jet passes before its impact with the surface being treated. A unit is carried by a frame so as to be movable over the surface 6 being treated. Particles thrown by a turbine 1 pass through a nozzle 2 located in a chamber 3 having an air pervious skirt 5 to prevent the escape of particles and dust. Spent particles and dust are drawn into space 4 and pass through ducts 7 to an expansion chamber 8. Reusable particles fall into a hopper 10 feeding the turbine; smaller particles and dust are collected in a filter bag 12, Fig. 2 (not shown). The free end of the bag 12 is supported by a flexible member 13 so that the degree of filling of the bag can be observed.
