Abstract

755,252. Separating solid materials. YOKES, Ltd. Feb. 23, 1955 [Feb. 23, 1954], No. 5346/54. Class 117. Particles of different density are supported on a perforated part 2 of a conveyer 1 passing between air trunkings 3, 4, and an upward air flow is produced by a fan 5 which discharges to a filter 6 having a discharge outlet 7. The material inlet sides of the trunkings are sloped at 8 and 9, and a vane 10 is provided, to increase the air flow at the inlet side thereby causing all the particles to move in various trajectories, Fig. 2 towards the outlet side. The lighter particles are carried away by the air stream whilst the remainder are removed by the conveyer. Air from the filter is recirculated through the trunkings.
