Abstract

1,017,564. Compressors; silencing. M. CLAUSEN, (Trading as FIRMA DANFOSS, VED ING M. CLAUSEN]. July 17, 1962 [Aug. 4, 1961], No. 27485/62. Headings F1B and F1N. Arange of piston type compressors, e.g. as used in refrigerators, with different diameter cylinder bores is produced from identical cylinder block castings provided with at least two integral silencing chambers 4, 5, by connecting the silencing chambers up in different ways. The compressors are provided with a valve plate 8 with inlet and exhaust valves 9, 10, and an angularly adjustable head 11 with a partition 14 forming suction and exhaust valve chambers 12, 13, the mounting means of the head 11 permitting it to be mounted in alternative positions at 90 degrees to one another. In Fig. 1 silencing chambers 3, 4, are connected to chamber 12 and chambers 5, 6, are connected to chamber 13. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the head 11 is turned through 90 degrees and chambers 3, 4, are corrected to the suction chamber 12 in parallel with the chambers 5, 6. In Fig. 3 (not shown) all the chambers are connected in series to the suction chamber.
