Abstract

A glow plug for a diesel engine comprises a conductor wire 4 connected by a looped heater element 6 to the end of a metal body 1, the space between the conductor and body being filled by a sintered glass filling which seals the end part 3 of the body. The heater 6 may be an alloy consisting of 92% platinum and 8% tungsten.
