Abstract
1310570 Two-part couplings CHAMPION SPARK PLUG CO 19 Nov 1970 [14 Jan 1970] 55013/70 Heading H2E [Also in Divisions F1 and F2] In an electric coupling in the ignition system of an I.C. engine a radio interference suppression resistor 19 is connected to a terminal by a strip or wire spring 11 of the form shown instead of by a coil spring. The resistor, carbon or wirewound, may be mounted in the distributer cap or rotor, in a terminal connecting an ignition cable to a spark plug, or in the spark plugs themselves. The spring may be positioned between the resistor and the centre electrode 16 of the spark plug, or between the resistor and the external terminal 20.
