Abstract

1,011,377. Transformers. NEOSID Ltd. Sept. 23, 1964 [Nov. 22, 1963], No. 46159/63. Heading H1T. In an adjustable inductance assembly comprising a threaded trimmer core 4 which penetrates into a recess 1d in a pot core of magnetic material (e.g. iron dust or ferrite or thermosetting or thermoplastic materials containing these substances) enclosing a coil 1a, the core 4 is supported and also self-taps the chamfered ends 3a of projections on a ring 3 of plastic material and the projections 3a snap fit into slots formed in the upper flanges 1c of the pot core. To prevent abrupt changes in inductance the base of the recess 1d has a raised projection and dimples 1f on the ring 3 reside in recesses formed in the flange 1c to prevent rotation of the ring. The leads from the coil may be taken out through slots 3b or 1g and a projection 1bb allows attachment of the assembly to a chassis or an aperture in a printed circuit board. Different parts of the pot core may consist of different materials.
