Abstract

1,009,467. Tractors. G. H. MASKELL. May 22, 1962 [May 13, 1961], No. 17504/61. Headings B7D and B7H. [Also in Division A1] A tractor comprises an open frame, which may be tubular, with transverse members 2, 3, 4 joined by longitudinal members, those between front and intermediate transverse members 2, 3 being arched at 9 to accommodate agricultural or other implements. The tractor further comprises a seat 13 mounted on the front of transverse power unit 10 which drives wheels 12; one or two wheels 14 steered through tiller 15, drop arm 20 and track-rod 19; an hydraulic implement lifting ram 28 and an hydraulic motor 39 for driving an implement. The hydraulic motor 39 which is connected by hoses to a pump on the power unit may be mounted on different parts of the tractor to suit different implements. In the embodiment a series of seed drills 29 (see Division A1) are pivotally mounted on spindle 32 of the tractor which is rotated by motor 39 through chain drive 37 and drives the seed drills through chains 36. Alternatively the motor 39 may be a reciprocating motor and may drive a front-mounted mower.
