Abstract

1,008,771. Conveyers. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. Feb. 9, 1962 [Jan. 19, 1961], No. 2207/61. Heading B8A. Solid fuel in the form of wet fines is fed from a hopper 1, with outwardly inclined walls at the base to prevent cavitation and a dividing wall 17, to shoots 21 leading to stoker hoppers 22 of a boiler 23, by stepped reciprocating plates 12, carried on frames 7, 8 actuated by hydraulic rams 20, moving over fixed plates 14. Material on the plates 14 nearest the shoots 21 is urged into the shoots, whereas material on each of the remaining plates 14 is progressively transferred to the succeeding lower plate 12.
