Abstract

1,008,122. Locks. HORTON, RENO, Ltd. Sept. 18, 1964 [Sept. 18, 1963], No. 36768/63 Heading E2A. A lock for a cupboard or cabinet having a mirror faced, hinged door 1 comprises a keyoperated locking bolt 8 which is removably mounted in the cylinder of a cylinder type lock, the arrangement being such that when the key (shown in dotted lines) is inserted into the lock the key extends into a slot in the bolt so that when the key is turned the tumblers in the cylinder free the bolt which can be withdrawn bodily from the cylinder by the key, the lock being mounted in a side wall 9 or a central partition of the cabinet and extending in a direction parallel to the door to co-operate with engaging means 5 mounted upon the inside of the door in alignment with the locking bolt. The engaging means on the door comprises a stud 4 with a flanged head 5 secured to the inside of the door so that the bolt 8 engages between the flange 5 and the door.
