Abstract

A flux composition of the alkali metal flouride: alkali metal borate type for use in bronze welding and brazing processes and which is suitable for extrusion on to a filler wire to form a coating thereon, is bonded by a carboxy methyl or methyl ethyl cellulose derivative (e.g. sodium carboxy methyl cellulose). The flux may contain polyethylene glycol or glycol and also sodium alginate of low ash grade.
