Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:1006890/C2/1> wherein A is a direct link or an oxygen atom, R11 is an alkyl or alkoxyalkyl radical, and R111 is an alkyl radical of 1-3 carbon atoms, and their preparation by (a) reacting an appropriate 5-substituted-2-amino-pyrimidine with an alkanoyl-benzene sulphonyl chloride or bromide in the presence of an acid-binding agent, or (b) reacting an alkanoylbenzenesulphonyl guanidine with the reaction product obtained by Vilsmeier reaction from a 1,1-dialkoxy-2-R11-A-ethane or a 1-R11-A-2-alkoxyethylene, an N,N-disubstituted formamide and an inorganic acid chloride such as phosphoruspentachloride or phosgene, e.g. with a b -alkoxy-a -R11-A-acrolein or an acetal thereof, or b -chloro-a -R11-A-acrolein or an acetal thereof. The compounds have activity as anti-diabetic agents, a tragacanth suspension being used in animal tests. Specification 913,716 is referred to.
