Abstract

1,006,000. Lawn edge trimmers. J. M. MARSHALL. March 24, 1964 [Jan. 7, 1964], No. 668/64. Heading AlF. A lawn edge trimmer comprises a cutter disc b which co-operates with a path edge and is secured to one end of a roller alpha mounted on a spindle c to the other end of which is secured a handle d, a plate c provided with two scrapers f, g being freely mounted on the spindle between the handle and the roller. The scraper g is a flat plate mounted horizontally so as to scrape debris from roller alpha. The scraper f comprises an arcuate plate arranged vertically with one vertically edge in sliding contact with the cutter disc. In a modification the scrapers each have one edge which contacts the path and another edge for removing debris from the roller. The cutter disc b may have a serrated or 'sprockettoothed' edge.
