Abstract

1,004,655. Launder concentrators. MINERAL DEPOSITS PTY. Ltd. Aug. 24, 1964 [Sept. 3, 1963], No. 34518/64. Heading B2H. Part of the floor of a launder concentrator is formed by a removable plate having lateral slots therein for removal of the concentrate. As shown, the side walls 14 of the launder have recesses 15 into which a moulded rubber plate 7 can be inserted, to form a smooth continuation of the floor 11 at 12. The cross-section of the slots 8 is shown in Fig. 3. The launder, and the slots 15, may taper going downstream, so that the plate 7 has to be sprung into position, but can be replaced when worn. A splitter assembly comprises a plate 17 extending between walls 13 depending from roof 19, a lip 20 being located in a desired pair of slots 21 in the launder walls, so that the take-off through the slots 8 can be split at a desired station into concentrate 22 and middlings 23. Tailings 24 are kept separate by plate 25. Alternatively, the splitter assembly may be a hopper with two outlets separated by a splitter plate, the hopper being movable along the launder, or the splitter plate being pivotable so that its upper edge can be located between two chosen slots, by adjustment of a lockable handle.
