Abstract
1,001,163. Resilient mountings. VIBRACHOC. Aug. 15, 1963 [June 6, 1963], No. 32318/63. Heading F2S. A damped resilient mounting 1 comprises a pair of opposed conical coil springs 4, 5 which are mounted within a casing 1 with their adjacent minor ends fixed to the inner end of a supported rod 8 which extends into the casing 1 through an opening 12 lined with a spring buffer ring 12, the major outer ends of the springs 4, 5 seating against the end walls of the casing 1a and annular friction pads 6, 7 of resilient material, dished to correspond with the shape of the springs 4, 5, being interposed between the latter and the side walls of the casing 1a. The rod 8 is internally threaded to receive a bolt 11 which secures a sprung element 2 at its upper end and has a screw 8c at its lower end for clamping the minor ends of the springs 4, 5 against an interposed metal disc 9, the rim of which extends between the pads 6, 7. In a modification, the pair of pads 6, 7 is replaced by a single pad. The pads 6, 7 are made of wire or resilient material.
