Abstract

1,000,872. Powder distributers. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. Aug. 16, 1961 [Aug. 26, 1960; Nov. 23, 1960; Jan. 6, 1961], No. 29554/61. Heading AlD. A distributer for powdery material comprises a hopper, the lower end of which opens into an annulus 93 which bears upon the central region of the upper surface of a spreading member 92. The annulus 93 is formed with three outlet ports 96, 97, 98 and to control the flow of material through the ports, masking plates 119,, 120, 121 are used which are fixed to a cylindrical ring 117. The annulus 93 is adjusted by means of an arm 106 connected to the annulus by a rod 105 which co-operates with a member 91 and is secured thereto by a resilient pin which may be inserted in any hole 110. The ring 117 is provided with an arm 124 on which is mounted the scale 125 which co-operates with a member 154 to indicate the position of the masking plates relative to the outlet ports. An adjustable stop 126 is used to set the required position of the masking plates and normally the stop 126 abuts against the stop 154. When turning at the end of a field it is necessary to close the outlet ports by means of the masking plates and a pin 164 on arm 106 co-operates with a member 163 fixed by means of a spring 131 to the arm 124. As shown, the pin 164 engages the member 163 to close the outlet ports. To open them a cable 137 is pulled which releases the pin 164 from the member 163 allowing the annulus 93 and ring 117 to rotate under the action of a spring 129 until the stop 126 contacts the fixed stop 154.
