A box or crate of thermoplastic material which may be high density polyethylene comprises a surrounding side wall, e.g. uniform thickness and corrugated perpendicular to a base. The lower edge of the wall is rebated at 4 to engage the correspondingly shaped upper edge of a similar container. The corrugations of the wall are continued to the lower rim 4 by means of hollow portions 5. The base of the container is provided with slots for drainage and with supporting means 7.
