Abstract
1,099,706. Photographic silver halide materials. GEVAERT-AGFA N.V. Oct. 5, 1966 [Oct.11, 1965], No.42974/65. Heading G2C. Photographic light-sensitive silver halide emulsions contain as a sensitizer at least one compound of the formula:- where A is a single bond or a sulphur atom and each of R 1 to R 4 is hydrogen or an alkyl, aralkyl or aryl group each of which may be substituted or R 1 and R 2 and/or R 3 and R 4 together form a heterocyclic ring or rings with the nitrogen atom. The colloid of the emulsion may be inert or active gelatine, the emulsion may be chloride, bromide or iodide or a combined halide emulsion and may be washed or unwashed and the halide grains may have a particle size of less than 0À2 microns. Gold salts such as gold thiocyanate, onium compounds, tin (II) salts, polyoxyalkylene compounds and sulphur sensitizers such as sodium thiosulphate may also be present.
