1,099,760. Lifting device. J. P. MATHER. Dec. 30, 1966[ Jan. 14, 1966], No. 1792/66. Heading B4C. A lifting device such as for lifting furniture, comprises a frame portion 10 and a lever means 15 pivoted thereon by means of a pin 14, the lever having a handle 18 and a lifting portion 16a, 17a. In operation, the portions 16a, 17a are inserted under a piece of furniture and the handle lowered where it may be retained by means of a catch 19; a work engaging member 20 may be secured to the lifting portion. In modifications the lever may be formed from a single cranked rod, the lifting means may be made interchangeable, the frame may be provided with jack-screws at its corners or provided with wheels.
