Abstract

932,285. Hypodermic injection appliances. C. F. BOEHRINGER & SOEHNE G.m.b.H. May 18, 1962 [June 8, 1961; June 9, 1961], No. 19286/62. Class 81 (2). An injection ampoule comprises a tubular glass container 2, sealed at both ends, enclosing a piston 1 which has an extension 3 with a central bore in which a hypodermic needle 4 is located. A line of weakness 11 is formed in the container adjacent the extension 3 so that the forward end can be broken off prior to use of the ampoule. A finger grip 5, attached to the end of the extension 3, may then be bent sideways to engage a suitably shaped notch, and be used to position the needle for the injection which is performed by pressing down on the remaining portion of the container 2 to expel the medicament contained in the space 7. Specification 852,458 is referred to.
