Abstract

1,092,349. Spinning device. SOCIETE RHODIACETA. Nov. 25, 1965 [Nov. 26, 1964], No. 50186/65. Heading DID. [Also in Division F2] A spinning and winding on device comprises, a ring 1 with a frusto-conical outer surface and a ring carrier 2 with a complementary inner surface, there being means to supply gas under pressure to the inner surface of the carrier to lift the ring out of contact with the carrier. A yarn being wound passes between the ring and its carrier. Gas flows via one or more pipes 9 to an annular chamber 6 in the carrier 2 whence it flows via apertures 7 to a recess in the inner surface of the carrier. The apertures 7 are inclined to the radial direction so that the gas passing therethrough causes the ring 1 to rotate. In the inoperative state ring 1 closely fits the conical interior of carrier 2.
