1,091,364. Pistons. KARL SCHMIDT G.m.b.H. April 13, 1965 [May 12, 1964], No. 15778/65. Heading F2T. A piston for a compressor, such as an air compressor for an internal combustion engine, is formed with a recess 2 in the bottom external edge of an annular piston ring groove provided in the piston. The recess may be of oblique, square, rectangular or quadrantshaped cross-section. The piston ring 5 may also be formed with a similar shaped recess facing the recess 2.
