Abstract

1,088,853. Locking control levers. WASO Ltd. Feb. 24, 1965 [Feb. 24, 1964; March 31, 1964 (2); June 8, 1964; Sept. 7, 1964], Nos. 7542/64, 13072/64, 13073/64, 23616/64 and 36551/64. Heading B7J. [Also in Division E2] A hand brake lever 27 having a release button 28 is rendered inoperative by a device fitted thereto which may however be unlocked to permit the button to be depressed and the lever moved. The device comprises a tubular body 1 held on the lever by studs 29 provided with break-off heads 31, a neck portion 3 supporting a plunger 10 surmounted by a cap 11, and combination lock rings 5 which although in the locking position hold the plunger in a raised position as shown may be set to vertically align slots 19 therein, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown) and permit the studs 14 protruding from the plunger to pass downwardly with the plunger and allow the button to be depressed. Each ring 5 may be held in a desired rotational position by a spring 23, Fig. 3 (not shown), having a pip 22 engaging in a desired one of the indentations 21.
