Abstract

Calcined refractory bricks with open pores are impregnated with ammonium, magnesium, potassium and/or sodium chromates and bichromates and heated to form Cr2O3 in the brick. Specified bricks are of magnesia, silica, magnesia-chrome, alumina, silica-alumina, and zircon.
