A conveyer system comprises container trolleys 8, Fig. 2, running upon a track having a flat floor portion 1.1 leading to a conveyer portion having stationary track rails 4 to 7, e.g. running between storeys of a shopping market, wherein the trolleys have a pair of rear wheels (not shown) and a pair of front wheels 8.2, 8.3 whose track spacing is less than that for the rear wheels; all of the wheels being carried upon substantially vertical swivel axes, e.g. 8.22, 8.32, so placed that under no rmal running conditions the wheel axes, e.g. 8.21, 8.31, will trail behind the swivel axes, and an inclined ramp 1.2 situated immediately in front of convergent entry sections (formed by guides 3.1) to the rails 4 to 7, which ramp normally ensures correct orientation of the wheels, e.g. as shown by the dotted positions 8.2, 8.3. Stops 10 mounted between the rails 4, 5 and 6, 7 are engageable by wheels axle extensions, e.g. 8.21, 8.31 or 8.41 if the wheels are not correctly orientated by the ramp 1, 2 and the trolley is then prevented from entering the rails 4 to 7.
