Abstract

1,085,458. Shuttleless looms. A. E. MOES-, SINGER. Dec. 14, 1965 [Dec. 22, 1964], No. 53002/65. Heading D1E. Weft is picked by a gripper shuttle, then released by the gripper shuttle and clamped at the exit side of the shed, and is then pulled back through the shed and the clamp to the connect position. Weft 1 is picked by a gripper shuttle 8 and the weft is gripped by a clamp 14 and a suction tube 13. The weft is then pulled back by pulling means 5. At beat up the pulling means releases weft to allow for the movement of the stay. Weft is cut by cutters 16, 17 and, one side is clamped by a clamp 7 and the loose end is sucked away through the suction device 13. In a modification, Fig. 6, weft is clamped between members 21, 22 by the action of spring 31 when the pulling means 5 operates. The clamp 28, 29 operates from a cam on the loom to maintain tension in the weft.
