Abstract

Dimethyl terephthalate is made by reacting terephthalic acid with MeOH in presence of Mo, its oxide, halide, sulphide or oxyhalide, or a molybdic acid, molybdate, isopolymolybdic acid, isopolymolybdate, heteropolymolybdic acid or heteropolymolybdate.
